A beautiful candid shot of the smiling Hall of Fame legend Lou Gehrig by heralded photographer Charles Conlon, who made a career of creating portraits of major league baseball players. Framed and in NRMT condition, the piece measures 25" x 29.5". A quiet and revered superstar, Gehrig played in the shadow of the flamboyant Babe Ruth but compiled some gaudy number of his own, including a career .340 batting average and nearly 2,000 RBI. Most notably, he played nearly 14 full seasons without a day off.
