Lou Gehrig "Luckest Man" Speech Presentation Plaque

Lou Gehrig "Luckest Man" Speech Presentation Plaque

The American Sportsman Presentation Plaque Lou Gehrig Belonged to Col. Chas J. Dieges. An historic tablet, gold in color, this American Sportsman appreciation heralds Gehrig as the “Idol of cheering millions.” Poem in raised letters by New York Times sportswriter and NYC naturalist John Kiernan is the same verse engraved upon Lou Gehrig’s trophy presented to him on that sad day at Yankee Stadium on July 4th, 1939. There are some reproductions out there, but rest assured this is an original, from the owner of the company that made them - Dieges and Clust. Item belonged to Col. Charles J. Dieges, and includes LOA from the grandson attesting to this belonging to owner of Dieges and Clust. Measures 10 ? x 4 ?”.
