Lou Gehrig Memorial Day Full Ticket

Lou Gehrig Memorial Day Full Ticket

From a man who needs no introduction for his accomplishments speak for themselves. On June 2, 1941 Gehrig succumbed to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 37 leaving an emptiness in the hearts of all fans and the game itself. One month later, on July 4th, a special memorial was held at Yankee Stadium wher his immortal number "4" was retired forever. Presented is a complete unused ticket from that day. This beautiful ticket frames an image of Gehrig inside four nicely shaped corners on its two-color front that shows only light toning. The reverse side is written with “#49” in black felt tip and the top edge has masking tape remnants. This "#49" is a file number from the Harry M. Stevens Archives from which the ticket originated before becoming part of the Charlie Sheen Collection. Overall EX.
