Luis Aparicio 2000th Hit George Sosnak Folk Art Baseball

Any sports aficionado will be blasting a big hit of his own by enhancing his collection with this commemorative ball - the actual baseball from the 2,000th hit of Hall of Fame shortstop Luis Aparicio. "Little Louie" stroked his 2,000 hit at a night game on May 15, 1969, in Detroit. Famous folk artist George Sosnak has colorfully decorated this ball as a painted red, green, black and white appealing creation that is a one-of-its-kind find. The ball contains Sosnak's rendering of the detailed box score of the game, plus numerous other details. Painted on the ball by Sosnak is "2000 Hits For Looey [sic] Still a Chisox Legend" as well as "May 15, 1969, 2000th Major League hit". The painted words on the ball also state, "In the 3rd inning of the game"... Luis Aparicio "hit one of Earl Wilson's pitches to right field for the 2,000 hit of his 14-year Major League career." Aparicio was a superb fielder who was a 9-time Gold Glove winner. Luis began his major league career in 1956 when he was the AL Rookie of the Year. Looie was a 10-time All-Star, and he won the AL base-stealing crown 9-times. He was a key member of the "Go-Go" White Sox", a team noted for its base-stealing and small ball that won the AL championship in 1959. The ball is painted as if it is a wondrous Easter egg, and the bright colors and minute details are emblematic of the great craftsman that is George Sosnak. This offering combines the nostalgia associated with a landmark hit by the first Venezuelan Hall of Famer with a George Sosnak a gorgeous, unique work of art.
