Mad Magazine LP Cardboard Display

Mad Magazine LP Cardboard Display

Mad Magazine couldn’t suppress their sophomoric humor only to the pages of a periodical, so they parodied the public’s ears in 1962 with an LP record, “Mad Twists Rock ‘n’ Roll”. Here we have the cardboard display for that classic recording, measuring 12 ? x 14”, it states clearly “On Sale Here” an album which includes such gems as “I Saw Someone Else’s Dandruff on your Shirt", “Please, Betty Jane (Shave your legs)", and “Agnes (the Teenage Russian Spy)". Though recorded at RCA Studios, RCA refused to release the disc after they heard the first single (the label concluded the songs were not in keeping with RCA’s reputation for “good taste”). Big Top Records came to the rescue, and the rest is history. Display has cardboard easel backing (seemingly never used), and is in good shape despite some wear at edges.
