Magic Johnson Signed Lakers Jersey (UDA)

Magic Johnson Signed Lakers Jersey (UDA)

Magic Johnson is considered by many to be the best point guard in the history of the NBA. Presented is a Los Angeles Lakers knit jersey signed by Johnson. Earvin "Magic" Johnson grew up in Lansing, Michigan and he earned his nickname while playing for Everett High School as a 15-year-old when he had a triple-double game in which he scored 36 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and added 16 assists. In the NBA, Johnson was a 3-time MVP, a 3-time Finals MVP, a 12-time All-Star, a 4-time assists leader and helped the Lakers to five World Championships during their iconic "Showtime" years. At 6'9", Johnson was one of the tallest point guards in history, and he used his height to see over smaller guards. Magic still holds NBA records for the highest regular season average assists per game (11.19) and the highest play-off average assists per game (12.35). Johnson abruptly retired in the first part of the 1991 season because he had contracted HIV, but he later returned in the 1992 All-Star game that season to win the game's MVP. Johnson then retired again before coming back to play 32 games in 1996 before he retired for good. The purple jersey has gold and white trim. On the chest is LAKERS, in sewn-on gold letters with white trim. Under the team name is "32" in sewn-on numerals, in white numerals with gold trim. The lower left outside tail has a Champions manufacturer's tag, with the size listed as 48. The back shows JOHNSON, in sewn-on gold letters with white trim and "32" in sewn-on white numerals with gold trim. On the back, Magic has signed his name on the numeral "2" in black marker. On the bottom of that numeral is a UDA hologram (043723), the only hologram on the jersey. Johnson is a member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, and he is a 2-time inductee to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, as both an NBA player and as a member of the U.S. Dream Team.
