Mammoth Babe Ruth "Golden Strand" Signed Photograph
Classic 16x20" photograph of Babe Ruth is personalized to the Golden Strand Resort in Sunny Isles, Florida, where it once hung proudly. A hotbed for Hollywood celebrities, and Babe Ruth who stayed of course in at his regular Villa #3. The Yankee icon is depicted in a classic home run swing taken at we believe the 1932 World Series where he "called" his shot. Ruth's gaze intensely follows the path of his projectile, hands releasing the bat as he leaves the batter's box. It is signed, inscribed and dated from February 29, 1948: "To the Golden Strand, Sincerely, Babe Ruth." Most importantly, this is the venue that the Babe chose for the peace of his "final stay." Recovering from surgery and racked with cancer he chose this paradise to "get away." On that very trip, The Golden Strand was where he signed and dated this amazing piece. Comes with JSA LOA but will pass everyone. Signed in beautiful blue steel-tip fountain pen ink. Framed to about 23x27" overall. One of the finest Ruth signed photographs known to exist.
