Mickey Mantle 1957 World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

Mickey Mantle 1957 World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Mickey Mantle prior to a World Series game at Yankee Stadium in 1957. Mantle is pictured leaning forward against the batting cage as he watches a teammate take batting practice prior to a game. The crystal-clear image allows one to see that Mantle it is holding one of teammate Hank Bauer's bats on his shoulder during this pensive moment. A "Wide World Photo" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption. The news caption is folded upward, so we cannot read it in its encapsulated form, but we are sure that the 1957 World Series setting identified by PSA was based upon the printed news slug. The photo (7x9") displays a few tiny border creases. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
