Mike Piazza Los Angeles Dodgers Game Worn Cather's Mask
Featured here is one of the earliest known game worn Mike Piazza catcher's masks in existence. This blue composite mask was obtained in 1993, thus making it worn by Piazza in either his rookie season or second year in the majors. There are "MLB" and "ALL-STAR" tags along with two handwritten "31" marks on the top. Piazza signed the inside chin padding in 8/10 black Sharpie and it is a very early signature. The mask sourced from Colony Records owner Michael Grossbardt, and it was was common for baseball players to trade their game used equipment for electronic goods when they came into Colony. Shows moderate use and is an extremely scarce piece of history from one of the best catchers to ever play the game.
