Minnesota Vikings NFL Charter
The original Vikings arrived in the New World in the ninth century by charter of King Richard I. The Minnesota Vikings arrived in the NFL in 1970 by charter of King Pete Rozelle, who also gave his blessing to the team's place in the newly merged NFL in this incredibly rare February 1, 1970 Certificate of Membership that hung in the Vikes' offices for years. The 19 x 22 1/2" laminated piece features the certificate on a wood paneled mounting board with gold exterior edges. Certificate reads "National Football League" at the top center over an illustrated-in-gold football scene, the terms of the membership agreement below, and Rozelle's signature in gold under the ext to the right. The NFL's gold seal is on the left. Surface is smooth and unmarked but for a few nearly invisible scratches, with 2 mounting holes at the top corners. A NRMT beauty, perfect for display.
