Mrs Charles Payson Mets Owner Photographs from SFX Archives (12)
Mrs. Charles Payson (Joan) was an avid racehorse enthusiast as well as owner of the NY Mets from 1968-1975, the year of her death. She was much loved by the players and fans. These SF Examiner images (12) are mostly from the 1960's and 70's; however there are (2) from the 1930's including a family photo that is dated 1935 and pictures Mrs. Payson with her husband Charles and three children; Danny, Payne and Cornelia. Sizes range from 5" x 7" to 8" x 11" and conditions range from VG-EX. The second image from the 30's is a portrait of Payson with a caption that reads "Joan Whitney Payson inherits $31,551,408.00"
