Muhammad Ali's Fight-Worn Hand Wraps (Bugner II Fight)

Muhammad Ali's Fight-Worn Hand Wraps (Bugner II Fight)

On June 30, 1975 in Malaysia, Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defended his title against tough Joe Bugner. Ali won a unanimous, 12-round decision in defense of his title. Offered here are the original hand wraps (both hands) used by Ali in this fight. From the collection of his longtime assistant trainer Wali Muhammad, the right hand wrap has been marked "ALI From Ali-Bugner Fight" in the hand of Wali Muhammad. The left hand wrap is simply marked, "ALI" in the hand of Wali Muhammad. The perfectly intact wraps consist of tape and gauze. A rare offering, one of only two sets of hand wraps we have seen coming to public sale. Each is irregularly shaped to approximately 5" x 6." LOAs from the daughter of Wali Muhammad and Craig Hamilton.
