Muhammad Ali Signed, Hand-Painted Glove by Steve Kaufman
The gloves are off - and one is a work of art. American pop artist Steve Kaufman was an assistant under pop icon Andy Warhol in the 1970s. The New York City native painted 250 of these gloves commemorating "The Greatest" and this is number 20. Muhammad Ali signed this colorful glove in 8/10 black Sharpie underneath a screened photo of the heavyweight champion. The glove also includes the Olympic logo and "USA" along with "Ali" more than a dozen times in white, blue and pink paint. There are red, flag-like stripes and puffy clouds decorating the glove, and the artist's autographed initials appear on the underside above the laces. "SAK" was the nickname Warhol gave Kaufman. Also included is the other unpainted, unsigned glove.
