An intriguing Muhammad Ali print of mostly women worshiping at a seaside mosque carries his large signature (9.5/10) at the bottom. 23 by 18-inch print on textured bond is a limited edition No. 316 out of 500, as noted at bottom left. Why is the only man's back to the mosque and what is he doing there? Perhaps only the artist knows. Ali's Muslim beliefs, of course, was the basis for his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War and though it caused a 3 1/2 -year exile from the ring he never wavered in his beliefs, and in the end his faith and his principles were vindicated. Perhaps much of his own life is in the brushstrokes of the inscrutable painting, which has a small tear but is o/w NRMT.
