Napoleon Lajoie Bat
Legendary second baseman and Hall of Famer Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie was such a force in baseball that in 1902 the Cleveland team he captained and would later manage renamed themselves the "Naps" in his honor. This double-handle bat measures 32 3/4" and weighs 37 oz. Although it is a store model, the bat is stamped "Wright & Ditson Makers Pat. Dec. 29, 1903" and engraved "LAJOIE" in block letters on the back of the barrel. Nap Lajoie was the only player to use this style of bat. There is tape on the upper handle and the barrel shows substantial wear along with several dings and chips. The knob also shows a few small chips. This well-worn memento from over a century ago will make a fine addition to your collection.
