Nate Thurmond's 1981 "Nate 42" California License Plate
Known for many drives to the basket, Hall of Fame NBA big man Nate Thurmond drove his automobile with this vanity plate, "Nate 42," depicting his nickname and uniform number with the Golden State Warriors. The California license plate is blue with gold letters and the most recent date on the top right is from 1981. There are at least five stickers under the 1981 date so Thurmond used this plate for quite some time. Voted as one of the NBA 50 greatest players, Thurmond authored the first official"quadruple double" in NBA history, amassing 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocked shots in his debut as a Chicago Bull on October 18, 1974. Thurmond passed away last year, making this marvelous memento even more relevant.
