Near Complete Run of Brooklyn Dodgers "Line Drives" and "Dodgers Doings" Newsletters (77)
Diehard Dodgers fans undoubtedly waited with bated breath to open up their monthly newsletter "Line Drives from the Dodgers" and its predecessor "Dodger Doings." This rare collection of beautifully preserved issues begins with the April 15, 1938 edition (Volume 1, Number 1) and carries through to the very last release from July of 1957 (Volume 16, Number 4), a few short months before the franchise would head west to Los Angeles and break millions of hearts as a result. A few duplicates are included, but we highly doubt a more complete collection exists. Most of the issues - which serve as promotional tools for the ballclub, including feature stories and home schedules - show typical mail folds, but other than that, they average VG to EX.
