Nellie Fox's 1959 Chicago White Sox American League Championship Ring (Fox Family Letter)
This very rare and important ring belonged to one of the elite players of his era, and celebrates his team's milestone accomplishment. A very popular team, the 1959 Chicago White Sox amassed 94 victories to win the American League pennant, the organization's first since the fabled "Black Sox" season of 1919, and the last until their championship season of 2005. No figure loomed larger than Nellie Fox, who was the 1959 American League MVP. This ring has been in the Fox family ever since it was awarded to Nellie in 1959, it rates in NM condition and is all-original with diamond on top of blue stone. "WHITE SOX" is in gold enamel on the blue stone with the words "1959 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" around the the perimeter of the top. Inside is engraved "J.N. Fox" for Jacob Nelson Fox, and also inside is stamped BALFOUR 14K. Fox batted .306 for the season to lead the White Sox, and he was named an All-Star 15 times in his Hall of Fame career. Lot comes with a signed letter from the Fox family.
