Newly Discovered 1941 Superman Poster
One of a kind movie theater poster for the all important original release of the Fleischer Brothers animated cartoon series “Superman.” This magnificent piece measures a brilliant 68x36” and features Man of Steel graphics worthy of the recently created Siegel & Schuster phenomenon. This is actually yes, a one of a kind piece, a painting (gouache), on heavy artist’s board. It was obtained recently from a New England collection where it has been in an attic type situation for many years. It is fresh to the market and one of the finest Superman pieces we have ever seen. It has had some restoration as the sides were trimmed for later use, as the verso was used for a different and far less important 1940s film. It has been brilliantly returned to its original glory and the result is amazing, as you can see. Condition is at least excellent if not better. Must be seen to be truly appreciated. This is a super, super piece to say the least.
