Only Known Circa 1910 Villeroy & Boch Pitcher & Mugs Complete Set

Only Known Circa 1910 Villeroy & Boch Pitcher & Mugs Complete Set

An amazing set we have not seen before, all beautifully hand-painted in Germany, the mugs are known to exist but the pitcher is not. Incredibly impressive, it is two-sided and stands 9" tall. A magnificent previously-unknown graphic of batter and catcher with green grass below on front, different single batsman on verso. Quality is exceptional, made by Villeroy & Boch, also known as Mettlach, one of the finest and most famous German porcelain manufacturers. They are most famous for their production of the Mettlach steins. These mugs are a complete set of six which includes one catcher behind the plate with wonderful early spider mask and fingerless gloves, three batsmen (one at the plate, one on deck, and one in the dugout getting ready), and two pitchers (one on the mound and one in the bullpen warming up). In MINT condition. Comes with 1982 letter from the a Mettlach Museum detailing their background.
