Original Pete Rose Silk Screen by Andy Warhol

Original Pete Rose Silk Screen by Andy Warhol

What better subject for the American Pop artist, Andy Warhol, than the most controversial sports hero of our modern day? Similar to the piece hanging in the Cincinnati Art Museum, the very same institution that commissioned Warhol to create this image in commemoration of Rose after he broke Ty Cobb’s long-standing lifetime hits record. The original work of art, derived from a photo taken by Cincinnati photographer, Gordon Baer, is designed to resemble baseball cards, in Andy's signature style though of course. Limited edition silkscreen is enormous, a powerful image alone, and a powerful statement. Pencil signature from Charlie Hustle underlines his image. Additionally signed by Andy Warhol, also in pencil and numbered as “29/50”. Magnificently framed. NRMT condition.
