Orlando Cepeda 1981 Chicago White Sox Jersey
Wearing this White Sox jersey as a coach in 1981 marked Cepeda's return to the game after serving 10 months in prison for a 1975 marijuana smuggling conviction. Shunned by the baseball writers for it, "Cha Cha" finally was put into the HOF by the Veterans Committe '99, honoring a 17-year career (1958-75) in which he had 379 homers and a .297 average for mostly the Giants, Cards and Braves. White mesh jersey was worn outside the pants. "Chicago" across front, "Cepeda" and "14" across back in dark on light blue tackle twill. Jersey is signed on upper back in black marker, grading 8/10. "Capital Ace [size] 42" on inner neck. Good use in the form of perspiration stains on neck and soiling on left sleeve. Came straight from Cepeda, with LOA.
