Spectacular all-original pair of cast-iron figural andirons. This is the version depicting a period baseball pitcher and batter. Each piece measures 19x6" and weighs a hefty six pounds. Verso is incised in the mold "RBS/09" for the initials of the artist and the year 1909. These are highly prized in the antique world and sets have long been sought after by folk art collectors and selling in auction for $15,000-20,000. Includes the tough to find pair of original connector pieces that the players stand on, made of cast iron and each measuring 18" long. Pitcher has an early baseball in his hand and the batter his favorite bat, with bat displaying some wear. Painted in all black.  Rare offering, great opportunity, EX condition.
