Pair of 1953 Topps Baseball Display Boxes
<p>Pair of 1953 Topps display<span style="font-size: 10pt;"></span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Topps baseball-card counter display boxes dating from 1953, which was just the second year in which the company issued baseball cards. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The boxes are both empty, but each once housed twenty-four five-cent packages of baseball cards. One box has the year ("1953") printed on the lid and each side side panel of both the lid and base. The other box is identical in design and color, but does not feature the year on either the lid or base. However, the year ("1953") is printed on the underside of base (as is it on the other example as well). The first box (bearing the year) has a pencil notation on the top of the lid that reads "1952," otherwise it remains in Excellent condition overall. The second box (without the year) displays a few small tears to the lid flaps and is in Very Good condition overall.</span></p><p> </p>
