Pair of Muhammad Ali Handwritten Letters (JSA)
Muhammad Ali handwritten correspondence. JSA letters on both. 8.5x11". 1) In a letter on Muhammad Ali Farms stationery, Muhammad Ali is writing to a Wayne Smith, the President of The Friendship Force. Ali writes, "Thank you for the toys. When the heart sings, I love it very much." Ali adds a postscript: "Service for God is the rent Wayne pays for a room in the hereafter." Ali's signature is bold, in blue pen. 2) In a personal letter written on the back of a letter to Ali from Wayne Smith, Ali writes, "Thank you Wayne for all are doing the work of Allah. God. Love, Muhammad Ali." Ali adds, "The fruits of the life after death are the consequences of the deed done in this life." These letters are fascinating in that they show the gentle and religious side of an iconic boxer and world-changing celebrity. There is slight foxing on the edges of the first letter and the second letter has small stains on the top left of the front and top right of the rear. Otherwise the letters are in excellent condition.
