Paul McCartney Provocative Signed Hand Written Letter (PSA & Beckett)

Paul McCartney Provocative Signed Hand Written Letter (PSA & Beckett)

"The impact of The Beatles - not only on music but on all of Western culture - is simply incalculable," wrote Rolling Stone magazine. The Beatles will always be immortal. Offered is the opportunity to possess a handwritten, provocative personal note inscribed and signed by Paul McCartney, who with Ringo Starr comprise the two surviving members of the Fab Four quartet. McCartney is still going strong as a performer. Now a British knight, Sir Charles Paul McCartney taught himself piano, guitar, and singing - and he played bass guitar and shared most of The Beatles' songwriting and lead singing with John Lennon. After The Beatles, McCartney was part of a new musical group - Wings. Overall, McCartney wrote or co-wrote 32 songs that have reached the Billboard Top 100. A tiny sampling of the famous songs written by McCartney: "Blackbird," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," "Eleanor Rigby," Love Me Do," "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," and "The Long and Winding Road." The personal note is written on a 4x5.4" page of stationery from The Savoy Hotel, in London, England. On the heading of the stationery page is "THE SAVOY," in red letters, along with the hotel's telegram and telephone addresses, also in red. McCartney wrote and inscribed, using blue ink, "To Pean [? - handwritten name is not definite], Best wishes from your pal. To the most retarded kid in the U.S.A./Paul McCartney." McCartney's provocative note was obviously meant to be friendly jibbing, but the usage stands as a mark of the time it was written, which is unknown, as writing "retarded" in such a manner today would be regarded as offensive. The note has some tiny paper loss along both side margins. There is also some minor foxing and fading on the note. BGS has encapsulated the note and graded the signature as "AUTHENTIC AUTOGRAPH." Despite the aforementioned minor imperfections, the note is in very good condition. Any memorabilia collection will be greatly enhanced by a handwritten, signed, and by modern standards controversial, note by Paul McCartney. The handwritten note has been encapsulated and graded BGS AUTHENTIC. The note also comes with a PSA Letter of Authenticity.
