Paul Molitor 2,900th Career Hit Baseball (Molitor Letter)
Presented is the actual ball hit by Hall of Fame infielder Paul Molitor for his 2,900th hit. Molitor was playing for the Minnesota Twins at home at Hubert H. Humphrey Stadium against the Kansas City Royals. Molitor led off the bottom of the eighth inning for the Twins and hit the first pitch for an infield single to shortstop off Kansas City pitcher Tim Pugh, with the Twins winning the game 9-8. Molitor played 21 seasons in the Major Leagues, 15 of them for the Milwaukee Brewers, and he finished his career with 3,319 hits. He was a 7-time All-Star, a 4-time Silver Slugger, and was part of the Toronto Blue Jays World Series winning team in 1993 as Molitor hit .458 in the World Series. Molitor has signed and inscribed the ball in blue ball point pen as "Paul Molitor HOF 04." An unknown hand has written "2900 Hit" on the baseball. Also written on the ball by an unknown hand is "7-5-96 SINGLE VS. Kansas City." The ball comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Paul Molitor.
