Paul Waner's Hall of Fame Plaque
Big Poison, Pittsburgh Pirates star outfielder, got into the Hall of Fame with a hangover. His Hall of Fame plaque with the leather matting surrounding it is the inimitable, one-of-a-kind plaque given to him from the folks at Cooperstown at the time of his induction in 1952. It reads, “Left handed hitting outfielder batted .300 or better 14 times in National League. One of seven players ever to compile 3,000 or more hits. Set modern N.L. record by collecting 200 or more hits eight seasons. Most valuable player in 1927 and four times selected for All Star Game. Gold lettering at bottom of leather matting reads, “National Baseball Hall of Fame Coopersown, N.Y.” Some slight water damage at the bottom of matting. Otherwise EX-MT. Framed to 10x13”.
