Peanuts Original Butternut Bread Drawings by Charles M. Schultz
One of the most influential and beloved cartoonists ever to put pencil to paper, Charles M. Schultz created the "Peanuts" comic strip back in 1947 as part of a different series called "L'il Folks," which evolved into the strip we all know and love by the early 1950s. These wonderful pencil drawings show a host of the regular characters in their most famous classic poses. Schroeder at the piano, Charlie Brown eating, Snoopy on top of the dog house (2), Linus and Lucy, and there is even a baseball shot with Linus as a catcher (one of the first ones for art's sake). These obviously came out of the files company and are each 6" x 4". They are unsigned but are unmistakably Schultz and guaranteed as such for a lifetime... a lifetime of charm and elegance. At its height, "Peanuts" was published daily in 2,600 papers in 75 countries, in 21 languages. Over the nearly 50 years that Peanuts was published, Schulz drew nearly 18,000 strips.
