Pete Rose 3,000 Hit Game Ball
One of the greatest accomplishments that a baseball player can reach is entering the 3,000 hit club. Pete Rose did it with ease, finishing with a whopping 4,256. Other than Ty Cobb, who had 67 hits less than Rose, nobody came close to breaking the record and it will very likely stand for decades as Charlie Hustle averaged more than a hit a game over the span of his 3,562 game career. Featured here is a ball that was used on May 5, 1978, when Rose got his 3000th hit. The official National League (Feeney) ball also sports a large signature on the side panel with the game date "5-5-75" inscription in Rose's hand. It comes with an LOA from the Reds gift shop stating, "This ball used in Pete Rose's 3000th hit game." The LOA also states the date of the game and the score "Expos 4, Reds 3." This is a very difficult opportunity to own an incredible piece of baseball history from the "Hit King" that may never lose his crown.
