Pete Rose Awards Collection of Three
The man who hopes for reinstatement into the game at which he excelled, Pete Rose once owned all three of these awards before selling them off during the 1980s. Here's what you'll get: 1) the Gillette Special Award is an 11-inch-tall silver-plated cup on a wood base that bears Rose's signature. The cup is tarnished but in EX condition, most likely given in conjunction with an All-Star Game 2) small 1976 trophy bearing a plaque at the bottom that reads: "Pete Rose MVP All-Star 2nd 3rd LF." The token - most likely given by a small organization or group of fans - stands 12", was signed by Rose on the front and back and is EX, and 3) the 1970s Player of the Decade plaque is EX and signed on the front by Rose. The 11.5" x 14" framed plaque was awarded at the 1980 Major-Minor Leagues Convention held in Dallas.
