Pete Rose Signed Silkscreen by Andy Warhol (33.5x43”)

Pete Rose Signed Silkscreen by Andy Warhol (33.5x43”)

What better subject for the American Pop artist, Andy Warhol, than the most controversial sports hero of our modern day? You can see this piece hanging in the Cincinnati Art Museum. The Museum commissioned Warhol to create this image to commemorate Rose after he broke Ty Cobb’s long-standing lifetime hits record. The original work of art, derived from a photo taken by Cincinnati photographer, Gordon Baer, is designed to resemble baseball cards. Limited edition silkscreen is enormous, a powerful image alone, and a powerful statement. Pencil signature from Charlie Hustle underlines his image. Additionally signed by Andy Warhol, also in pencil and numbered as “7/50”. Nicely framed. NRMT condition.
