Pie Traynor Game Worn Spikes

Pie Traynor Game Worn Spikes

Regarded by many to be the best third baseman ever to play the game, Pie was as fantastic in the field as he was at the plate. Blessed with a powerful arm he was a wizard with bunts and slow-choppers, while his patience at the plate almost always led to contact. His black leather cleats (size "8") are covered with dust from old Forbes Field with field remnants still embedded in the metal spikes. Complete with their original black laces this picturesque pair have remained in stellar condition, with the exception of a crack to the sole of the right shoe, and make the perfect piece for display. Included is an LOA from former Pittsburgh Pirates clubhouse attendant.
