Pieces of Boston Garden Parquet Floor Autographed by Larry Bird & Magic Johnson
These sacred pieces of basketball Americana were a part of the famous parquet floor in the storied arena known as Boston Garden. For nearly 50 years these were defining pieces of Boston Celtics lore. When the parquet floor of the Garden was retired in 1999, pieces of the original parquet were randomly used in the new floor, retaining its history and tradition. Other pieces, such as these, were distributed to a select group of fortunate people tied to that storied arena. These two pieces, measuring 4x9” and 5x8” have been blessed with the large black sharpie signatures of one of the greatest legends ever to grace the floor of Boston Garden, Larry Bird and one of the greatest innovators of the modern game of basketball, Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Admire these treasured pieces of the parquet floor and wonder how many times Bird’s Converse sneakers treaded over these pieces, or how many other countless legends have graced them. The two pieces are matted together in a framed display with a color print of the two legends separating them. A plate under each piece displays the names, “Magic Johnson” and “Larry Bird.” Whole display measures 15x36” and is a limited edition, number 15 of 100, as written on the matting in black marker. COA from Boston Garden. These are some of the most important basketball artifacts around.
