Pittsburgh Pirate Time Is Iron City Beer Time Schedule Display

The underdog Pittsburgh Pirates won the 1960 World Series when they defeated the New York Yankees in Game 7 on Bill Mazeroski's 9th-inning walk-off home run over the left field fence. Pittsburgh fans still gather each year at the spot the homer landed where Forbes Field was located and they listen to a replay of that game. In fact, on October 13, 2000, the 40th anniversary of that blast, Bill Mazeroski attended the ceremony. Here is a 16x24" 1960 Pirate schedule, sponsored by Iron City Beer. The poster includes a staged photo, reminding us of a Norman Rockwell painting, of a Pirate arguing with an umpire, with the umpire theatrically sticking out his chin. The Pirate wears the sleeveless style uniform of the Pirates at that time. Display is in relatively nice condition with crease in upper left corner, some light folds, and two spots in middle on bottom. There is corner wear. The poster is a valued, colorful memento of one of Pittsburgh's, and baseball's, most exciting World Series triumphs.
