Pittsburgh Pirates Signed Scorecard With Honus Wagner

Pittsburgh Pirates Signed Scorecard With Honus Wagner

“Scorecard, here, scorecard...” The scorecard yelling (and selling) vendor is as traditional at the ballpark as the hot dog vendor. But the difference between an ordinary Pittsburgh Pirates scorecard and this extremely rare one from 1933-the dramatic Honus Wagner signature along with some other heavy-duty autographs. And all in dark black ink. Joining Honus on this signature-heavy scorecard are Tony Piet, Hal Finney, Floyd Young, Pie Traynor among others. The historic scorecard is printed on newsprint (so there’s yellowing from age) and features a posed photograph of the Waner brothers who are described as “The Pirates Slugging Duo.” On the back of the card, an attached but partially removeable paper board with some hand written notes along with newsprint standings. The rear of the card itself has hand written scorecard notes in pencil. Some things haven’t changed even in 70 years. Notice all the local advertising messages including Long’s Men’s Store on Asylum Street and the ad from Radio Service Co. Minor tearing and creasing in the corners. No doubt, fans of Pirates memorabilia will want to score big with this 1933 Honus Wagner-signature scorecard.
