Politically Incorrect 1963 Jackie Robinson Chock Full O' Nuts Statue

Politically Incorrect 1963 Jackie Robinson Chock Full O' Nuts Statue

This marvelous award stands 11.5" with wood base measuring 4" x 3.5" featuring politically-incorrect crossed arm Indian chief. The bottom of the statue contains the letters "POPAI," representing the Global Association for Marketing at Retail (which still exists), and the letters "OMA" above the words "OUTSTANDING MERCHANDISING ACHIEVEMENT." The plate inscription reads, "Presented to Mr. Jackie Robinson - by the South Jersey Region Chock Full O' Nuts Shareholders at the Cherry Hill Inn - May 18, 1963." This ceremony was attended by Jackie in person and the award was obtained directly by Leland’s from Rachel Robinson. Comes with LOA from Lelands.com chairman, Joshua Lelands Evans detailing its history. Jackie's Chock Full O' Nuts tenure came directly after revisiting the trade to the New York Giants & retiring from the Brooklyn Dodgers. His groundbreaking move to become Vice President of a major urban corporation is of some historical significance as he took the position in 1957 and retained it for a decade.
