Polo Grounds Double Figural Seats

Polo Grounds Double Figural Seats

This incredible offering contains two Polo Grounds seats, each with "NY" figural on one side and with the original wood. The Polo Grounds is one of the most iconic baseball venues of all time, with a unique configuration that featured a cavernous center field and very short left and right field lines. The stadium was built into a rocky outcrop in upper Manhattan, and as the name suggests was initially intended for the sport of polo. The venue is most closely linked to the New York Giants, who played there until their move to the West Coast following the 1957 season, but it even played home to the New York Mets for their first two, historically bad years in the MLB. The seats are #3 (Bill Terry) and #4 (Mel Ott), and some areas have a newer coat of paint. The tandem measures 29x42" overall. The left seat has a small piece missing under the seat to hold a screw in, but they are original VG-EX condition.
