President John F. Kennedy Meets the 1963 World Champion Boston Celtics Signed Photo (Only One Known)

President John F. Kennedy Meets the 1963 World Champion Boston Celtics Signed Photo (Only One Known)

A truly important piece of popular culture where the political and sports worlds intersect. This must have been terribly exciting for both worlds as this was a purely New England celebration with the Celtics of Boston meeting the Boston Irish-Catholic leader of the free world. This most famous image of the classic White House meeting is signed by John F. Kennedy himself in ink. There is clear taping covering part of his signature. He is joined by World Champions Red Auerbach, Buddy LeRoux, Frank Ramsey, Tom Sanders, Tom Heinsohn, Bob Cousy, Sam Jones, John Havlicek, and K.C. Jones. Bill Russell was late and missed the photo op yet he signed this later (Bill Russell never liked signing, not even for the President!) There's minor creasing and a small tear but it would look incredible in a presentation frame. Interestingly, specimens belonging to such legends as Auerbach and Cousy were poor secretarials in a larger photo format. This 8" x 10" version is the only REAL one we know to exist. It has has been verified by PSA/DNA with their LOA included. A truly important piece to collectors of basketball, sports, JFK, political, autographs, pop culture or just anything really great.
