Primo Carnera in Fascist Uniform (1933)
November 7, 1933 wire photo of champion boxer, Primo Carnera, on his triumphant return to Rome. This was no ordinary hero's homecoming, however. It occurred during a time of nationalistic fervor in Italy. Primo is clad in a Fascist uniform and is shown saluting the crowd in a manner that probably made Mussolini bust a button with pride. 5.5 x 6" trimmed photo is NM with original news clipping affixed to versa.
