Professional Golfer Phil Rodgers Photographs (41)
PGA golfer and La Jolla, California native, Phil Rodgers, is likely best known for his 36-hole playoff loss to Kiwi, Bob Charles, in the 1963 British Open. He had a solid career besides and is captured here by SF Examiner photographers as a young California amateur as early as 1954, breaking a junior golf record. Lot has many wire photos tracking Rodgers' career from 1954 to 1966 including his dominating win at the LA Open in 1962 and a win at the prestigious Buick Open among others. Sized from 7.5 x 9" to 8 x 11" and condition ranges from VG to MT.
