Rare 1915 James J. Corbett Felt Pennant - Raver Films
Rare small felt pennant featuring former heavyweight boxing champion James J. Corbett. This is the first example of this pennant we have ever offered and we can recall having seen just a few others at auction. Interestingly, Corbett appeared on this pennant not by virtue of his boxing fame, but in his new career as a Hollywood actor. Corbett starred as Kid Garvey in the 1915 film The Other Girl, produced by the Raver Film Company. This pennant was issued in promotion of the film and is lettered "Pat App For - Raver Star" along the top border, while Corbett's name is lettered below his image. The pennant (7.75" in length) remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
