Rare 1936 New York Yankees Championship Pennant

Rare 1936 New York Yankees Championship Pennant

1936 was another in a series of special years for the Bronx Bombers as the team would defeat the crosstown rival Giants in six games to capture their fifth championship. The Yankees were led by Lou Gehrig and an exciting young phenom named Joe DiMaggio, who made his debut on May 3, 1936. This rare item is the first of these that we have seen and is almost identical to the version issued in 1937. However, this is larger at 30" x 8". The white felt has some spotting and toning from age, and the silk-screened printing has a few minor cracks. Very Good condition.
