Rare 1944 Kid Gavilan Site Poster from Cuba
Kid Gavilan gets second billing to his opponent and fellow Cuban Miguel Acevedo on this 1944 fight poster, but the Kid would win this fight and later become one of the world's most famous welterweight champions and an early member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The 14 x 21" bill (EX) on medium poster board features a red-hued silhouette of Cuba's Palacio De Los Deportes at the top and posed action shots of the main-event combatants. Customers got their 60 centavos worth: Kid Gavilan outpointed Acevedo in an action-packed 10-rounder.
