Rare Collection of Blackface Bobbing Head Dolls (3)

Rare Collection of Blackface Bobbing Head Dolls (3)

Bobbing-head doll origins date back to 1840s Germany, but they didn't truly become American collectibles until the late 1950s, with major league baseball jumping on board in the early '60s. Their popularity has fluctuated over the years, and they are doing well once again as promotional items at professional sports stadiums. Issued in 1962, these black bobbleheads have been much scarcer than their Caucasian counterparts. The trio of "nodders" offered here represent the Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs and New York Mets, who, themselves, made their debut in 1962. All have been expertly restored to NRMT condition and would look terrific on display in your home or office.
