Rare Ted Williams Moxie Cardboard Advertising Sign
While Ted Williams was a star player for the Boston Red Sox he endorsed the local homegrown soft drink, often considered the first mass produced soft drink in America, Moxie. This circa 1950’s cardboard advertisement dates from the time Williams endorsed the soda which claimed to give drinkers that extra spunk they needed to go about their day. The yellow cardboard sign measures 8 ? x 15 1/4” and even has the original stand used to hold it up completely intact, in fact it appears to never have been used as the counter sign it was designed to be. There are some minor age spots and discoloration but the structure is sound with no tears, bending or visible damage of any kind giving it a rating of VG+. This piece represents not just a fine example of sports memorabilia but of Americana as well.
