Remarkable 1940s Boston Braves Minor League Uniform
Late 1940s complete road uniform (jersey and pants) worn by a Boston Braves minor-league affiliate. The zipper-front jersey is similar in style and quality to a Boston Braves jersey except for the "Tomahawk" patch underneath the team name on the front. The gray flannel jersey is lettered "Braves" across the front and features the number "20" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy felt. Located in the collar are a "Rawlings" label, a laundry tag, and a "44" size tag. A "Braves" patch adorns the left sleeve. The zipper remains fully functional. The matching gray flannel pants feature a "Rawlings" label, a laundry tag, and a "34" size tag in the waistband. The name "Bellows" is written in faded black marker to the right of the laundry tag. Both garments are original as issued. The jersey displays moderate wear, including a few light stains on the front and reverse. The pants display heavy wear, including light staining and several team repairs on the front and reverse. Minor league uniforms from this time period are scarce, especially those in such fine condition. This is an exceptional minor league baseball uniform relating to the oldest franchise in the Majors.
