Republican National Conventions 1932-1992 (250+ images)
In this collection we see the progression of RNC’s over the course of seven decades. It appears that only the clothing and the candidates change because each year seems to have the same atmosphere of political enthusiasm and patriotic fanfare. Includes: 1932, 1936, 1940, 1948, 1952, 1960, 1988 and 1992. There are some fantastic photos in here with the arrest of protestors in ‘88, some scuffles over the years, Nixon, a voodoo salesman in New Orleans and a wide array of crowd shots. Some of the best are shots of the “Wet” demonstration in 1932 to repeal prohibition in which crowd members are seen passing around buckets of beer. Many photos have news clippings on the back and some have publication markings. Sizes vary but most are around 8.5x11”.
