Roberto Clemente Bobbing Head Doll

Roberto Clemente Bobbing Head Doll

From 1962, this vintage original was crafted in the image of the Hispanic Jackie Robinson in his sleeveless Pirates uniform and cap. It is authentically hand-painted in white, blue and gold. The doll is 6.5" high atop an oblong base with a scripted "Roberto Clemente" on the front. Excellent expression in the contoured face, with its grin and somewhat droopy eyes... a perfect take on the Hall of Famer's features. The underside of base is stamped "1962 Japan" and "Exclusive License Right." Expertly Restored to NRMT condition. Clemente's life and career were cut short when his plane went down on New Year's Eve of 1972 while delivering food to earthquake victims on a humanitarian mission.
