Roberto Clemente Game Used Baseball Bat
Before his life was tragically cut short in 1972, Roberto Clemente had established himself as one of the most talented and dynamic players in the Major Leagues. This Louisville slugger model u1 was used by the Hall of Famer and sports a cracked handle. It is dated 9/26/65 on the reverse in small pencil, heavy use is evident including rack marks, ball marks and cleat marks. The bat stands 36" long, weighs 35 oz and has deep markings. Clemente was killed in a plane crash on December 31, 1972, while en route to deliver aid to those devastated by an earthquake in Nicaragua. The following year he became the first Latin-American inducted into Cooperstown.
